The Czech Republic's entry in Men's Olympic Hockey is facing another injury concern, as New Jersey Devils forward Patrik Elias suffered bruised ribs during the team's opening game against Germany and is out for the tournament.

Elias, who was not in the lineup for the Czechs' 3-2 loss to Switzerland on Thursday, will be replaced by Buffalo Sabres forward Ales Kotalik.

Indeed. The fewer Sabres over in Italy, the better.

This is worse news for the Czechs, though, as they trade in a complete player in Elias for a one-dimensional shooter in Ales. Regardless, though, congrats to Ales for getting the call to represent his national team.
