One thing I did notice- especially in the DE class- is that a lot of the DE's are way to light- "Tweeners" - in the NFL. Yes, there are success stories in guys like Jevon Kearse, Dwight Freeney, and Jason Taylor- there arent a ton of those types out there.

The trend in college seems to be toward lighter DEs. This has created a dearth of good DE candidates for the pros. Maybe that's why some teams are moving to a 3-4 defense and converting quick DTs to DEs and light DEs to LBs.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Maybe the NFL is just getting too big.

The 320 pound players, like Big Mike Williams (who was wayyyy over 350)- are getting to large. You can't block what you can't catch.

It's the dinosaur theory- eventually they just got too big

Most are 'stock' transitions that happen every year to players who are too small to play their college position in the pro's, especially on defense....lineman to lb's, lb's to db's, etc.

I find Drame from the 'Cuse a little interesting...switching sides of the ball. I'm guessing he's been worked out as a guard, not a tackle?

Funniest thing I saw was Ingle Martin trying out at QB and PK...talk about no correlation at all.
