Better then him sitting on the bench doing nothing all season... He might not be the calibur goalie that Miller and Biron are, but he's no slouch either. Not playing certainly doesn't help him any. Not to mention Rochester needs anything they can get at the moment, they've been stinking it up left and right lately.

I didn't realize Norennen could go without going through waivers? This should have been done months ago, when Miller came back when Miller was deemed ready to go. So I guess this means they couldn't find a good trade for Marty.

If it's a conditioning assignment, then it doesn't have to go through waivers. It's mainly intended for NHLers who are coming back from an injury and need to get into game shape. But it has to be temporary (for how long I don't know)
