What do you want to bet by tomorrow

Check out the list of players who could be cut this offseason and those who already have been cut.

I bet every single one of them. I also wonder who isn't listed that they may cut? I think Rashad Baker will start at FS leaving us a SS to find.

I like Baker at FS, he is a good young player. Not great but solid. He is always around the ball.

Although, since we won't be too pressed for money with some of the bigger cuts, there is a chance we keep Vincent since we only save 800k by cutting him. But, I do think Baker is a better player at the position, heck we could keep Vincent and put him back at corner or something....Just a thought.

They wouldn't dare insinuate that God Favre would be cut...

        Green Bay Packers
        Player Cap number 2006 savings
        LB Na'il Diggs $3,812,500 $2,900,000
QB Brett Favre (might retire) $12,633,333 $7,800,000
        OL Adrian Klemm $1,600,000 $1,200,000

I call up favre and say' You are retiring tomorrow right'? If the answer is no...I cut him.

Yeah I know, but I am a bastard in that way. With the Cap issues coming up, that team is now being held back by favre being there. Nearly 8 mill in cap clearance can sure as hell help me get my team back on track.

This is actually pretty exciting. With all the talk of winning now, I think Marv is gonna go on a FA spending spree!

I think that Vincent might stay, as his cap savings is "only" 825K of his 3.25M cap number. Baker and Leonhard may need another year of seasoning at FS.

Milloy represents a much bigger savings, but we would have to draft a top knotch SS or get one in FA, because there is no one on the roster to take over at that position.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

How could you even think of treating the Almighty Brett Favre like any other NFL player??? He's won 17 errr 1 Superbowl, the same amount as Tom Brady..errr Trent Dilfer. He's carried the team on his back the past year to a playoff..errr losing season. Stop disrespecting the best QB ever to play the game!

I bet Vincent won't be cut. There are no savings to cut him. ($825,000- replacement player [$500.000]) at least.

                    No reasonto cut him.

After seeing this article it makes me think we are going to spend on Jon Runyan (sp) and move gandy to LG (Which is actually fine by me). Peters back to LT with a full offseason of knowing he is the guy at LT. So we have peters, gandy, Preston, Villarial and Runyan. Not great, but not horrible either considering all but one of them has spent at least 1 full season together AND we have better coaching now.

I see us making a hard bid on Givens or Joe J. Then two DT's in FA or a DT and SS with Ngata being our pick at #8.

If the team is trying to get younger overall, they may cut Vincent, and if they do, they pay $0 as opposed to $3.2 million, correct?

Not talking cap savings, but actual money paid to the player...

Cutting Vincent would be stupid, IMO. I thought he played well enough at FS to prove that he still has a few years left. At the very least, he can mentor guys like McGee, Greer, Clements, Baker, etc.

No. Much of that 3.2 has already been paid in bonus. I am not sure what his salary and bonus's are for this year, but it is less than 3.2.
