Baltimore's RB situation is a mess. Jamaal Lewis is washed up, and the future is not bright. It's not what position they draft- It's who they pick. Williams and White are the best on the board.

Deangelo Williams, Memphis

Ravens offense is still based on their RBs and without Lewis, its a no brainer. Ravens urgently need LenDale White.

As I see it, the Ravens could go a lot of ways. Their primary needs are 1.) RB--where they are likely to lose J.Lewis; 2.) DB--their secondary was ravaged by injuries and S W.Demps and CB D.Sanders won't be back; 3.) O-line--their offense is predicated on running and the O-line was a disappointment last year; 4.) LB--age/injuries are catching up to them here as T.Suggs plays more DE.

The Ravens just began talks with Chester Taylor on a new contract and really like him, so if they go for a RB, it will probably be someone bigger like LenDale White who can get the tough yards on the goal line. White is younger and faster than J.Lewis and just about as big and will come cheaper than any of the stud FA RBs who are all going to want big money. DeAngelo Williams is also a possibility, but he is about the same size as Taylor and has the same questions about his durability and ability to produce on the goalline as Taylor has.

With Jimmy Williams, Tye Hill and Ko Simpson still on the board it will be very tough for them to pass on a DB here, but they can probably pick up a pretty good safety in Round # 2 or # 3 and there will be some FA CBs who could step in as their # 3 CB. Same for offensive line: they should still be able to get a RT or OG in Round # 2. And, with Ray Lewis coming back they can put off picking up a LB for another year.

So, the Ravens pick: LenDale White, RB, USC

DeAngelo Williams
He's a more complete back than LenDale White and he's proven he can handle the full load in a full season. Something White has not yet proven. White may be more of a bruising back but Williams is a more complete back and a better one at this point in time.

6-6 by my count....is there a tie-breaker, or wait for another vote?

Is a vote for Vernon Davis considered a tiebreaker? I guess Billick is going to sink with Boller until further notice, and Chester Taylor is a pretty good RB. Start Heap and Vernon Davis, and you have a power running game AND what should be an effective short-intermediate passing game.
