Outstanding move, both will not get big money af a top 5 DT, but both are up and coming proven young vets.

I have clamored for these 2 for months now, these guys are perfect rather an overpaying again for a vet on the wrong side of 30.

In other news, Marv is looking to sign Jason Peters long term!!!

I realize that he hasnt done anything yet but Marv looks like he is gettin er done.

I think a reporter SPECULATING that a team MIGHT BE INTERESTED is a far cry from the Bills actually being interested.

LOL......

The actual blurb from the article.

Roth doesn't even use the word "interested" - Just "possibilities". He could have listed any of 20 "possible" names.

Adams' release created the need for two defensive tackles and increased the possibility of Buffalo spending the No. 8 pick in the draft on top prospect Haloti Ngata of Oregon. Free agent possibilities include Ryan Pickett and Damione Lewis, who played for new Bills' defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, and defensive line coach Bill Kollar in St. Louis.

I wanted Damione Lewis when he was drafted by the Rams in the first place...even told him on his way out of the tunnel once that I hated the Rams only because they drafted him :laughter:

I'm still holding out hope for Rocky Bernard. Bernard/Pickett would be sweet.

what about bringin that fat bastard teddy washington back in. he was cut by oakland and is a wall in the middle of the line. i know hes old as hell, but if we're looking to plug a spot and he was willing to come in cheap it wouldnt be a bad short term solution.

I agree with Doz.. ANYTHING is pure speculation at this point, including anything I write.

I wouldn't be THAT excited for this duo either.. They didn't exactly rip things up with the Rams.

If it DID happen.. I'd be VERY happy for ONE huge reason.
Two starting DT's means no Ngata in round one.. Opening up the gates for taking the player I belive is the SINGLE BEST player in the entire draft, Vernon Davis. I think he's THAT good for real.

Saratoga.. I'm not THAT sold on Bernard.. From what I've heard from people I've spoken with.. He takes too many plays off and played his butt off in a contract year. I'd hate to pay $4-5 million for him.

I thought Pickett was considered something of a bust?

The tie-in with the new coaches makes sense.

How did the Ram's run defense rank with those two?

I thought at one point Pickett was a borderline bust?

28th...which is why I dont understand why Pickett and Lewis are so highly thought of.....however Pickett did have 65 tackles and 2 sacks last year which is pretty good. So maybe it was a lack of LB support which is also weak in St-Louis.

DraftBoy

STL has horrid LB and CB support when it comes to the run plus their DE are non existant except for Leonard Little. These two arwe the real deal and had nearly identical stats to those of Adams and Williams the past two or so years. Bringing these two in would be a huge upgrade over Anderson...and...ummm.....Sape?

damien lewis is actually the one that was the first round pick that has not quite lived up to expectations, not pickett.. but i would love both of these guys.. especially since they wouldnt be as much as a guy like ngata in the first round. plus they both fit the cover 2 scheme better than a sam adams/ngata fatboy type.

Exactly what I thought. It doesn't make any sense that Bills are planning to rebuild this defense with London in the middle and two other undersized members that were unable to stop the run.
