Forked from: Cap Update 3/5/06 (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showpost.php?postid=1380601)

I now have the cap adjustment.....Bills have a cap debit of $223,089.

I heard on ESPN radio tongith that the Dolphins got dinged on the cap...anything truth? Who might the 'Fins possibly cut if true?

At this point w/ no CBA I see Gus and Seau would be goners. Kevin Carter has stated he's had no problem in restructuring his contract, since it got to be a regular thing when he was with the Titans. There hasn't been any recent word of Thomas and Taylor restructuring (even though they obviously aren't in any position to be cut, just to help out the team,) but I've read that Thomas would probably restructure. This is why, even though some fans can be impatient, it will take Saban and company time to be successful, since they've got their sleeves rolled up thanks to the old regimes. I hope that we'll be successful next coming season and beyond obviously, but I've gotten a bit more patient in my old age of 29, maybe not mature, but patient.

it has not been mentioned at FH. First I have heard of this. Not on NFL.com or ESPN.com. What the hell is a cap debit anyway? never heard that term before??

The cap adjustment is a formula:

cap adjustment = likely to be earned bonuses in 2005 that were not hit but already charged to the cap in 2005 - likely to be earned bonuses in 2006 - not likely to be earned bonuses in 2005 that were hit

for example...lets say that Miami was overcharged $2mil in LTBE for 2005 but they incurred $7 mil in NLTBE in 2005 and were expected to hit $4mil in LTBE for 2006.

Cap adjustment = $2 mil - $4 mil - $7 mil

-$9 mil from the NFL salary cap limit...

so the sal cap is $94.513 mil - $9.5 mil = $85 mil that the 'Fins have to spend on salary and bonuses this year...to put that in perspective...the Vikes have about $115 - $120 mil :ill:
