I now have the Bills $14,758,819 under an "adjusted" salary cap of $101,776,911 with $$8,622,892 "dead cap"

This has been edited to account for the in Nate Clements' franchise tender.....cap numbers will be fluid for a few days as new provisions of the CBA are applied

One is that minimum salaries have all been increased.....do not expect much of a cap impact from that...a few hundred thousand at most....

This number does not include Josh Stamer's new deal.....not sure if he signed 1 yr tender or longer term deal.

One thing no longer addressed on your page is whether the CBA extension returns significance to June 1 this year as far as accelerating SB cap charges for released players.

Any clue?

Cap savings column is a "before June 1st" cap savings

I'm still surprised that Moorman doesn't have an escaltor.

but your Dead Cap column?? what of that? It says that Moulds will cost us $5.33333 mil of dead cap...is that before or after 6/1?? Is the provision for escalation back in place or removed?

I told you he had an option for 2009 triggered by making the Pro Bowl

you did not tell me that...

and I thought that year was already contract how else would we have amoratized his signing bonus through 2009? if he has a bonus or an escalator for 2009 that you may have told me...I don't remember that or how much it was for.

I realize that. The question is about whether there is now an "after June 1st" number or if it still all accelerates regardless of when cut.....

I will add an "after June 1st" once I get some more info on the new deals.....

The "june 1st" rule is once again in effect, but it has a couple of new twists.....check out my cap article on the front page for a detailed description :)

To jump a year in the future, won't the cap # next year be pretty high???

Right now, 2007 is set at $106 million with the likely chance it will go up to $109 million

NFL | Teams received $2.481 million in "performance based pay"

<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/187">Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://www.kffl.com/link/188), reports each of the 32 NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) teams received $2.481 million to distribute to players on the active roster in the "performance based pay" distribution that is part of the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl)'s collective bargaining agreement. The fund is set up to reward players whose salary does not reflect the amount of playing time they received.

"Performance based pay" does not count on the cap

Clump, how does Moulds dead cap work if we trade him? What do we get stuck eating? Curious...

Moulds has $1.666 mil in bonus money next year that gets escalated into this years cap if he is moved or cut before 6/1. That gets subtracted from the $6.089 mil of base salary for 2006 that the Bills will save if he is not on the team...so they will end up getting approx. $4.4 mil added back to their free cap room. If they move him after 6/1 then they would get back the full $6.089 mil this year and have $1.666 in dead cap next year. In either case they would also free up at least $7.25 mil in base salary next year (and would actually save $8.96 mil by moving him before 6/1 of this year).
