When the Toronto Rock players last left HSBC Arena, they felt nothing like the five-time National Lacrosse League champions they are.
After a 13-10 loss to the Buffalo Bandits on Jan. 21, the Rock was 0-4 and its postgame locker room was about as joyous as a dentist's waiting room. "We were as down as we ever had been," said captain Jim Veltman. more (http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060311/1064075.asp)

The Toronto Rock defeated the Buffalo Bandits 10-8 in front of 14,064 fans at HSBC Arena in Buffalo on Saturday night. Colin Doyle scored five points (2g, 3a) leading the Rock offense while goaltender Bob Watson recorded 49 saves in the win. With the win the Rock improve to 7-5 and the Bandits fall to 4-4.

After the two teams traded two goals a piece in the first six minutes of the game, both defenses strengthened, holding both offenses scoreless for over 20 minutes. In the second quarter, Buffalo forward Roger Vyse broke the silence scoring a goal at 13:06 into the period. The Rock answered right back with a goal by Blaine Manning tying the game at three goals a piece heading into halftime.
