The Bills, who also have openings on their offensive line, opened free agency projected to be about $16 million under the $102 million cap.


General manager Marv Levy said Tripplett will serve the role as a penetrating tackle, adding that the team will look for a bulkier player to play alongside him.


Tripplett appeared in 15 games last season with the Colts, credited with 24 tackles and a career-high four sacks. His best season was in 2003, when he had a career-high 49 tackles and one sack in 16 starts.

Tripplet is 295, just about any DT is bigger than him.

Russell Davis or perhaps Ryan Pickett(who would command more money) are bigger than Trips.
Marv needs to inquire about Davis quick before he's off the market.

bunkley is not bigger than tripplet. tripplet could put on 11 lbs after one buffet.

people keep mentioning bunkley.. he will not be a bill if they are looking for a big guy.. bunkley is a workout warrior and NOT a big guy.

Well Bunkley is at about 310 now. He put on weight before the combine. And Triplett said in his PC that he plays between 280-285. So Bunkley would be about 20 pounds heavier.

I agree. I want a playmaker at that spot, Id rather reach a lil for Bunkley at that spot.

What about Grady Jackson? He's bigger- don't know about his speed though.

I've never heard of him being busted for such a thing. You must be mixing him up with the deceased Darrell Russell.

I like Grady Jackson. He would be a solid pickup to replace Pat Williams. :up:
