Don't really understand it. Yeah, yeah...he blocks well. So what, so does Vernon Davis and the kid looks like he is going to be a star. Much rather would have liked to get him in the draft.

I would have rather kept Campbell.

At least Campbell could catch. :sigh:

yeah it seems like they paid too much for a good blocker. i mean id be fine with it and graded him higher if they hadnt given him that much. he'll have to have a career year in receptions to get above the D i gave him

I hedged on this, but many graded this much poorer than I. I am under the impression that he is an excellant blocker which is something we need on our lilne. The cost almost made me give this a D though, but since I am not paying and it doesn't affect our cap much yet, I won't judge on that.

I gave it a C - this can kinda help JP with some additional time on some plays.

Money could have been better spent.

come to think about it, we keep b1tching about protecting the passer. Then again if we brought in some stud OL , we won't need to have the TE blocking but instead catching the ball up the middle.

Who knows. Right now , I'm not impressed.

Its a great signing and fills a huge need. The price was a little steep, but you almost always overpay in free agency. He is a proven NFL player.

We finally have a tight end who can block and catch.

If Royal was brought to provide depth until Vernon Davis 'develop' his blocking skills it's an A+

If not... I don't want to know anything about him.

I think he helps the running game ...period. Not worth the money and I think he's a downgrade from Campbell, which isn't saying much.

Many will be changing their tune when Willis has more than one good lead blocker on the field. If we are going to resign the likes of Greg Jeman then we better get some one to run block :sigh:

Vernon Davis doesn't have to develop blocking skills - he already has them. He'd likely be a better blocker than anyone we have (except for Olinemen)!!!
