    Holy Crap

Cardinals had reasons to make splash: It's pretty easy to see why the Cardinals changed their minds and decided to go big into the market for Edge. First, they have $26 million of cap room and a new stadium. Second, signing little deals such as the ones for guard Milford Brown and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy don't eat up a lot of their cap. Third, they have $67 million of cap room in 2007. Giving James $30 million over four years with a chance to earn another $1 million brings a marquee name to the Cardinals, as Emmitt Smith did a couple years ago.

      four years/thirty million?
I didn't come here to fight, I hate fighting. Life is way too short to spend it on fighting! Go fight with yourself, one of you will eventually win!

Apparently it's a universal clause in all Cardinal contracts that they terminate after the '06 season.

If you've got that much cap room in one year, you've got a good majority of your team becoming free agents all at once.

Exactly. It's possible their 07 cap number right now only has 30 something players under contract.

Yeah but 67 mill to find 23 players? Easy.

I've never seen a cap number that high or low depending on how you look at it, regardless of whose a free agent.

Minus 40 was about the worst I have seen. that Was KC the year TD took over and we were only -16 mill or so

This is what they got signed for next year, excluding their recent FAs.
