That's great news, but the only thing is hes not that big, and Marv said the other guy was gonna be the huge run stuffer. Do you think we still take Ngata even if we sign Pickett?

I believe marv just said 'Bigger' Than Tripplet. Chicago doesn't have a guy over 306 I believe at DT.

This is old news. There are about 3 prior threads on the same subject. Why not post to one of them?

Nope.. yes, Marv did say that.. But Pickett is the best out there remaining, and talent is more important than size.. Pickett and Tripplet together can do some great things, I'd love to have them both.

Listen, I have against Ngata.. I think he'll be a fine football player in the NFL.. but unless he's the next Richard Seymour or Marcus Stroud I think 8 is too high to go DT. At eight I dont just want a good football player, I want a guy at 8 who's going to WIN us some games.

IF we take Pickett, I think it narrows it down to two draft day scenarios
1) Michael Huff or Jimmy Williams at safety
2) Trade down and take the best OL available (Justice or Charles Spencer-who is rising fast trust me) or select Tamba Hali, which if he panned out would make our D Line straight up NASTY.

One more quick draft note.. If NO gets Brees (not likely) or another QB before the draft (Culpepper, Mcnown, collins) and don't go QB.. The QB's are going to fall down a lot further than people think they are.

I think now between picks 2-3-4 only one QB is going. If Oakland passes on Young he's falling down pretty far.. and Detroit is no lock to go QB now, in fact they are interested in McCown.

My point.. A couple of skilled positional players are going to go faster than we first anticipated. There will be a good chance Huff is now off the board when we pick.

Depends on how you look at it. Don't forget, he's only 6'2". 310 lbs at that height is big. He plays a big style because of it. Corey Simon plays a big style and he's even lighter. Tripplett is also 6'2", but he's 15-20 lbs. lighter.

If you look at some other "big" DT/NT types, and what they're listed at; you have to consider height as well. Not that they're listed accurately, but you have to factor that in for all of them. For example; Pat Williams 6'3" 317lbs. He was our "big" NT, even though Sam Adams is 6'5" 335 lbs.
