<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/33">Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press (http://www.kffl.com/link/26), reports Minnesota Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) QB Daunte Culpepper (http://www.kffl.com/player/1120/nfl) is expected to be traded to the Miami Dolphins (http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl) Tuesday, March 14, for a second-round draft choice in the upcoming NFL Draft (http://www.kffl.com/link/159).

I think that he's a steal if they get him for only a 2nd rounder. Still, he's not playing in '06.

VIKES SHIP CULPEPPER TO FINS

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that the Minnesota Vikings have traded quarterback Daunte Culpepper to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round selection in the 2006 draft.

The deal is contingent on Culpepper passing a physical.

I don't get how Brees is a better player than Culpepper if both are healthy(which is a concern on both guys)

You want to tell me that Culpepper is nothing without Moss, but how well will Brees fair without LT and Gates?

If you ask me Culpepper is a better than Brees and will be a steal for Miami.

Me too, but Culpepper should be solid for you guys. You really had a good group to choose from. Dante, Brees, Schaub, and you even could've looked at Ramsey as a last option. All would improve the situation there. Dante was playing great just 2 years ago.

Culpepper is a huge upgreade over Ferrotte but there defense took a hit especially the secondary due to cuts. Brees and Culpepper both have a huge risk and huge reward potential. Time will tell if it was a steal or not. Culpepper was outplayed by Brad Johnson last year so who knows...

I think this is a good pickup for Miami. The Gus/Feeley/Rosenfals carousel that finally had Gus starting was horrible last year. And with Gus now gone, they need someone with credibility at QB. Culpepper is not the most consistent ever, but he's an order of magnitude better than what they had before. Now they must protect him. If they think Shelton is going to get the job done, they are sadly mistaken. With their 1st rd pick, they must take one of: Winston Justice, Eric Winston or Marcus McNeil (probably in that order). Losing their 2nd rd means they won't be able to take a top Guard and their secondary may need to be addressed with their 3rd and/or 4th picks...

But all in all, a good move by the fins!!!

Phins dont have him yet....he still needs to get by their doctors. If he passes the physical its a tremendous upgrade, over the past decade of QB play in Miami. Chamber, McMike, Brown and co. have the ability to do amazing things if they have a QB that can hit them in stride.

Numbers don't lie.

Moss missed Det, GB and Ind during the 04 season.

During that time? 765 yds passing, 68% passing, 7 TDs, 1 INT. The guy has Randy McMichael (better than their TE), Chris Chambers (a Probowl WR), Marty Booker (a once Probowl WR who is definitely better than their #2), and one of the best 1-2 punch backfields in the league.

That's all fine and dandy, but you forgot to mention the Vikings won only 1 of 2 without Moss while he posted those numbers. They only beat detroit out of indy and greenbay. You're right numbers don't lie, but they can be misleading. I wonder what Saban's fetish is for ex viking qbs. First, Frerotte who pulled a qb rating of 118.0 7Tds and 2ints as a starter when Culpepper was hurt. Was frerotte only as good because he had Randy Moss and co? No Moss in miami, and he's a different type of qb.
I'll leave you guys to it.

Miami is now gonna be a very good team. Looks like another dog fight with the Jets for last place.

Miami has a great HC to begin with and now a good QB which is what hurt them last season.

Great QB and a great young RB. Chambers is good and Booker isn't too bad either. I could see them trying to pick up another good WR opposite of Chambers now. They would instantly have a very good offense.

We have the worst HC in our division and that will be the deciding factor for years to come.

4th round - 101st Pick

I'm thinking Culpepper for a 2nd - 51st isn't that bad, as far as if he doesn't play at all this year, didn't the Bills use a 1st on a RB with a similar injury to have him sit for a year.

Either way Fin Fans would much rather have a QB with one arm or one leg over the crap they have had the last 5 years. So yes you can't blame us for being excited.

I really would not make much sense if it was the 2007 pick. With the 2006 pick the Vikes might be able to move up in the draft and grab a top QB to groom. I think it would make a lot of sense for the Saints also, or even the Titans, to move down and get more picks from Minny to fill their many holes.

But if it really is the 2007 pick, I totally agree with Gunz: the Vikings would be offcially ******ed.
