Largent on Seahawks' GM post: 'I'd take it'
Reminiscent of his days as a politician on Capitol Hill, former Seahawk Steve Largent made his pitch for the team's vacant general-manager position yesterday.
Largent, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and member of the NFL Hall of Fame, considers himself a candidate for the job. But his three-hour meeting with team president Bob Whitsitt at Seahawks headquarters in Kirkland on Thursday wasn't construed as an interview for the position. Furthermore, team sources aren't calling Largent a candidate for the job.
