The Arena Football League has been around for 16 seasons, but a lot of people still don't know it exists.
That's about to change.
At 3 p.m. Sunday, the AFL gets the major-league treatment from NBC, a network in need of a major league.
In recent years, NBC has lost the National Basketball Association and the National Football League.
Why indoor football? It's simple, according to NBC Sports President Ken Schanzer. He believes in the league.
"What we're doing this weekend is beginning to build a new sports property in American television," he told reporters in a telephone conference this week.....
