Browns | Faine free to seek a trade
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 07:38:10 -0800

Mary Kay Cabot, of the Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns have given OC Jeff Faine permission to seek a trade, an NFL source said Monday, March 20. If the Browns can trade Faine, OL LeCharles Bentley will start at center. If they can't trade him, Bentley, a two-time Pro Bowler, most likely will move to guard, and Faine will be the center.

Does anyone know if he's good at all? All I remember about him is constantly seeing his name on the weekly injury report. What might he be worth in a trade?

He'll fit in perfectly with Chris V on the injury report front.

Why not take a shot at him, what do we have to lose besides a draft pick??

Are we going to receive any compensatory picks for losing Jennings and Big Pat last season...?

Probably just a 6th or 7th rounder. :ill:

Forget about him.Faine is listed at 291lb, definitely too light for McNally. Remember Teague is 300 lb but mobile, yet McNally openly said that he wish Teague would be a little bigger?

He's better than what we've got. Therefore I'd definitely try to work a trade.

Id deal a fourth for him. Not a Day 1 pick, maybe a late one this year and a conditional next. Faine was awesome at ND but has yet to show it at the pro level, although the argument could be made he hasnt really been given his fair shot but that has both sides. Id like to pick him up but not at the cost of a 3rd. bc you can get Franchise QBs for 2nd round picks, no way am I dealing a 3rd for Faine, Id look more like Ramsey type comp maybe a 5th.

Faine.. Neal.. Runyan.. I dont care who we get..

as long as they are BETTER than what we have on the OLine now..

Can we sign Grady Jackson, then trade our 1st, both 3rds, 4th and 5th to take Brick? I"ll take Brick and Spencer in the second and be done with the left side of the line for the next 7 years!

That would only ensure that we would suck for the next 7 years not be better.
