He might actually have a chance of getting him to come here because Washington has to be pretty close to the cap by now. They give him a contract similar to the one that they offered Wells. It could eat up cap enough that the Redskins wouldn't be able to afford him.

He's better than what we've got. So sure, why not?

If Washington wants this guy they obviously would pay him (especially them of all teams). That's the only thing that worries me about him.

Then again the way Marv is going garbage picking since March 10, he might fit in perfectly to our master rebuilding plan.

Yeah and he has a better chance of being more effective and contributing than a rookie lineman. I would give up a 3rd for him. I hear he's coming into his own.

I totally agree. and i know that Washington loves to pay players the money, but they gotta be pretty close to the cap by now that if they gave him a contract with a big cap hit this year, it might not be able to be matched by the Skins.

The only negative is that he'll cost a 3rd rounder.

But hey....we got 2 of them, so it's all good, especially if we get a starting Guard out of it.

He's pretty well-regarded here in DC. From what I've seen he's looked very good. I don't watch them every week though.

I would spend zero minutes and zero seconds more of Marv's aging energy on another RESTRICTED Free Agency.

Here is how you beat Washington at their own game... Washington gives huge signing bonuses up front and minimal salaries the first year, right? That way, they can prorate the bonuses and remain under the cap this year. Give the guy a bigger first year salary and little to no bonus. That way, his salary will count more against the cap this season, which would limit the chance Washington could match.

NOt that what you said doesnt make sense, because it does..

But how about we sign Stephen "F'N" Neal, and KEEP our third rounder.

Thanks Mikey. And Pat, I agree with you too. Why not look at Neal, the other NE left tackle out there (name escapes me at the moment), and keep the draft picks? That's not a bad alternative. My point is, if you really want this Dockery guy because he "fits the box", then that would be how I would try to outfox Washington.

very good guard.. and your right.. he is coming into his own.. i posted this somewhere else, but i heard a radio interview w/ him on local radio (i live in redskins area).. very intelligent, and all about the game and the team.. not a "money" guy.. he would be an awesome addition.. that is why they put a 3rd round tender on him.

I would do either way. Have to agree with Mud on this one.

If your going by Jauron's offensive philosophy, which if your going by Chicago that would be the "please dont embarass the living hell out of me" philosophy.. Then neal would be a great fit.

I havent heard of him visiting any other teams since he's left Buffalo. Naturally, that pretty much means he'll go back to NE.

I agree with Pat on this one, I like Dockery as an option but not at a 3rd round cost, give me Neal for same kind of money but I dont lose any picks.
