At least they aren't looking like they are totally getting out played out there tonight... though that's not much consolation either.

They said on the shootout that both Toronto and the HSBC judge agreed no goal.

How to beat the Buffalo Sabres: Smack in the mouth a couple of times early in the game and they'll welt. They didn't show up for the most part tonight.

That disallowed goal was highway robbery. The only good moment to come out of it was Ruff's hissy fit on the bench, and 1/2 the bench trying to get the idiotic ref to look at the scoreboard at the replay. My biggest gripe with the system of having the refs call out penalties to the crowd via a mic? They should explain to us, as well as the coaches, why a call was overturned or upheld. If you're going to borrow from the NFL, go the full distance.

The refereeing tonight continued to be like it has been in Buffalo games (As well as in general in the NHL lately)---Inconsistent. They'll call one questionable/borderline penalty, and then turn the other cheek on a blatant one. What happened to Colin "Jackoff" Campbell's promise to stay vigilant? What a joke.

If they're going to overturn a call, shouldn't there also be clear cut proof? They called it a goal at first..there were no reviews that clearly showed it wasn't one...the only review that showed anything was the one from above that showed pretty clearly that the puck crossed the line

I was actually thinking the same thing. If the table were turned, that goal would have counted.

I don't want to accuse you guys of being homers or anything... but watching that replay, it never once looked like that puck made it all the way across the line. I ended up falling asleep while they were reviewing it, so I didn't even know what happened for sure until this morning.

I was at the game.. I called my parents back home and they said:

"Hang on..Their showing a replay right now from the net cam"
"It's a goal, you can see white around the whole puck. GO SABRES"

Then they showed it on the scoreboard and the crowd went ballistic. After play stoppage for the next ten minutes the crowd booed every time. From the 300's I could see Ruff going insane. We played a good game for the most part, the only eyesore was MAXIM AFINOGENOV. How many giveaways did he have last night? 10? At least? I hold my breath everytime he touches the puck because you know eventually hes going be a puck hog. He passes more to the opposing team than his own teamates for crissake. He has to understand hes not playing on a european rink, he cant pull his moves all the time on a smaller rink. On that note, Afinogenov61 change your name. :D

If the goaline was thinner that would have counter, grr.

Why is it that thick anyway between the post?

Philagape

It really looked to me that it was a goal. For a split second on the replay, I saw the entire puck over the entire line. You could call me a homer, but I've sided against Buffalo in some controversies in the past. But this was a goal.

The referree was what....a whole 2 FEET AWAY FROM THE PUCK??? HE SKATED UP TO THE NET POINTING AT IT AS ITS A GOAL THEN THE LIGHT GOES ON. WTF!

Follow the red line from right to left....see the white line between the puck and the actual redline on ice??

Indeed. Aside from my gripe that the crowd, TV audience, AND coaches should get an explanation, there should always be irrefutable evidence to overturn the call on the ice. While I personally think the angles we were shown allow us to see the puck was over the line, there was absolutely no clear-cut to overturn any call on the ice.

I look forward to them, man.

I wish I could've gone, too, but it's a good thing we didn't have $$ invested in tickets & flights---My wife has been suffering from the flu since Wednesday, so this weekend has been spent within the confines of my own home! :(
