Updating a previous report, <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/21">Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune (http://www.kffl.com/link/37), reports the Seattle Seahawks (http://www.kffl.com/team/33/nfl)' offer sheet to Minnesota Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) WR Nate Burleson (http://www.kffl.com/player/6257/nfl) is a seven-year, $49 million deal with $5.25 million guaranteed. The deal also includes two poison pills guaranteeing the entire $49 million if he plays a certain number of games in the state of Minnesota, or if his average-per-year exceeds the average of the highest-paid running back on the team. The pills are in direct retribution for the contract the Vikings (http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl) used to sign former Seahawks (http://www.kffl.com/team/33/nfl) OLG Steve Hutchinson (http://www.kffl.com/player/1701/nfl).

Thats some FUNNY stipulations.. payback is a *****!
Only one problem though, they are giving Burleson $49 f'n million dollars?!!?
That's INSANE!

A. He'll be cut or restructured before he reaches the "certain number of games."
B. He won't do anything past that Shaun Alexander guy. lol

C. THIS IS RIDICULOUS REGARDLESS.

LMAO! I think its great myself. This signing hurts the Vikes more than Hutch leaving hurts the Hawks.

Should've also included a clause that he'd get a small addition bonus if he would not participate in any love boat activities. That'd be hilarious.

In reality it is a 4-Yr/$14M contract with a $5.25M SB. They added a few years to pump it up so the total terms are the same as the Hutchinson contract.

Minnesota is well set at WR, so I'm sure they will be happy to get the 3rd round pick and move on.

Thats gonna be three second round picks for the Vikings, PLENTY of ammo should they decide to move up from 17 in the draft to get one of the three big named QBs coming out..

Hmmm, Hutch and a 3rd-rounder for Burleson ... yeah Seattle sure got its revenge.

Seattle is shooting itself in the foot. Minnesotta is probably sitting back laughing at this offer.

Why the 3rd round pick? Burelson is not a RFA, is he?

he is a RFA. that's the problem with the whole revenge thing. i still think the burleson deal is funny, and i hope it drives the point home that these "poison pills" shouldn't count as principal terms of any deal.

If he plays so many games in Minnesota... LMAO

All WR's average more YPCatch then a RB's YPRun

I love the poison pill, but truthfully Minnesota will be laughing to the bank when they get a free 3rd rounder for Burleson, meanwhile they gave NOTHING to the Hawks for Hutchinson. :lmao:
