Rumor about Sabres jerseys change

Found it on the Buffalo Bandits forum over at WingZone.com

go to Sabres.com. Then go to the Sabres message board. They is a bunch of stuff talking about it. The guy at the team store told me that they will go to the St. Louis Rams colors...Darker blue (not royal) and Gold (not yellow).

yeah there have been rumors they are going to officially change to the updated blue and gold after the cup finals.

supossedly they've already ordered a stopage of all black and red merchandise.

I also heard that the change to the blue and gold won't happen until the season after next. Supposedly teams that were supposed to change their uniforms next year, including Buffalo, Boston, and Washington were told to wait another year. Anaheim is supposed to change their uniforms next year however because they are changing their name.

This was announced before the lockout..but I could have swore there was some sort of agreement that wouldnt allow us to use the new jerseys until the 2007-2008 season..

It won't be. They are going to keep the Goat heat, but just change the colors to Navy blue and gold.

I would prefer they use the logo on their alternate jersey to the Goathead...

That interview was back in November. The NHL still has to approve any uniform change, and, from what I hear, it sounds like they are not going to approve anything until 2007-2008. I think it has to do with the NHL going with a completely new uniform style at that time (I guess kind of like what Nike did with the Olympic jerseys).

Sabres Were designing new Uniforms,

and hte NHL would Approve any Uniform/Logos Changes Until AFTER the Lockout ended, and there is ALSO A 1 Year Wait Policy,

so they get them approved this summer and we have to wait a season then use the uniforms

I personally cannot stand the current alternate uni (red with the swords).

Has anybody EVER seen the other alternate that Buffalo suppossedly had... it was the current color scheme... the jersey was white, and it said "NEW YORK" diagonally, similiar to the Rangers design.

I've seen pictures online, but never an actual person wearing one...

I'd prefer that over the current Red Alt... though after this year I'm sure it will not matter.

That is correct. They were auctioned off afterwards with the proceeds going to the 9/11 relief fund. The Sabres wore them for one game vs. the Rangers at MSG.
