Is it pretty early to hear preseason opponents?

The last few years the NFL has been releasing the preseason schedule AFTER the regular schedule but this year we know the weeks even thought we do not know the exact dates and times of our preseason schedule.

Was the schedule released early due to the late start of free agency or for some other reason?

Sorry, but you're mistaken. The preseason Sched ALWAYS comes out 2-3 weeks before the Reg. Schedule.

Actually the Reg. Schedule (if it does come out next Thurs) will be about a week early. It usually comes out right around my birthday (April 13) and a few weeks before the draft.

What you may be thinking of is that then never have the off. Dates and times until sometime in May.
