Jersey City, NJ - (AP) The 2006 Jaguars hope to win back to back titles but they likely won't be doing it with superstar CB Nate Clements on board. The Jags cut the veteran for salary cap issues. "It's a business and sometimes you have to make some tough cuts. Nate was an instrumental part to our championship last year and we thank him for his outstanding work," GM Olander was stated as he was headed to California where he was to check up on quarterback Carson Palmer.

Clements, 26, was second on the Jags with 100 tackles, first on the Jags with 7 interceptions and second on the Jags with 6 forced fumbles. Clements also made 1st all pro defensive team. 3rd all pro defensive player Brian Kelly, superb cover corner Dre Bly and rookie Antrel Rolle will be the Jags top 3 corners now.

Leading tackler Jamie Sharper, 3rd leading tackler Mark Fields, big nose tackle Jason Ferguson, and young running back Kevin Jones were among other notable cuts. The Jaguars have now cut their top 3 tacklers from last year.

The Jaguars are approximately 30 million under the cap.
