All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Aside from Ferguson, I find it hard to identify Left Tackles in this draft. I'm not talking about those who played that posistion in college but those who can play the Left Tackle position effectivly in the NFL.
I invite you all to post your lists and where you think they might go in draft.
Ho-boy, I'm glad I asked this question in this forum and not in the Bills Zone! That's one mean arguement going on about the relative merits of just one RT(or is it a projected LT?).
I think I'll just hope that we get Ngata in the first and Colledge in the second, not as much controversy.
I think Joe Toledo has potential as a late round sleeper to really develop as a left tackle. He's one of the stronger tackles in the draft and like Jason Peters is a former tight end. Unlike Peters, he had some time at tackle in college after he made the switch. Like Andrew Whitworth (whom I also like) Toledo scored well on his measurables at the combine.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
I know people don't want to hear about another Texas OT but LT Jon Scott would be a 2nd or 3rd round bargain who could play right away, if needed. He's 6-6 310lbs.and moves well. Long arms and great footwork.
Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

He has potential, but he tends to be inconsistent at times. If someone could light a fire under him, he could probably become alot better...

Agreed. Scott could be a real good NFL tackle. He just needs to be a lot more consistent. Then again, that's a common rap against players coming out of college, and many of them get past it. I don't take the "consistency" thing as a deal breaker. Sure, he went to Texas, but he's nothing like the behemoths that were there before him (Davis, Williams). This guy is more in the mold of Levi Jones or Walter Jones, though not nearly as refined @ this point in his career.
