Lewis has become voice of the Bengals

Three weeks into the job, head coach Marvin Lewis has replaced owner Mike Brown as the voice of the Cincinnati Bengals.

It's a remarkable change. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Tired of being the target of criticism during his team's 12-year run of futility, Brown has given his rookie head coach more latitude than any of his recent predecessors.

Brown has declined all interview requests since hiring Lewis three weeks ago. Lewis is the only one allowed to speak for the team.

"That's the way Mike would like it to be," Lewis said Tuesday.
