All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Bengals | Contract update: S. Adams
Thu, 6 Apr 2006 17:47:20 -0700 Cincinnati Bengals DT Sam Adams' three-year contract included base salaries of $1.3 million (2006), $1.5 million (2007) and $1.75 million (2008).
Think its a good deal for the Bengals? I do. Those scumbags
I was listening to Pat Kirwan talk about Adams on Sirius sometime last week, and Pat didn't paint a pretty picture of Adams work ethic. He described Sam as always missing pracitices, or walking from point A to point B when at practice while the rest of the team husteled. He even mentioned a time when he actually saw Adams convince someone to give him a ride on their golf cart as the rest of the players jogged to get across the field.
He also went on to say that the guy can really stick it to the OL when he puts his mind to it and he described a game Sam had against AZ 2 years ago. The problem is he also said that Sam is a 1 down DT. 1 down and 1 down only. He tires easily or just gets lazy.
He said that the only time he saw Sam in tip top shape, playing his best and dominating in practice and in games was when he was with Marvin Lewis. for some reason the two have a special bond. He respects the coach and the coach found ways to motivate him no one else could.
I think Cincy was the only place Sam Adams could go and be successful.

Reportedly, the deal he signed totaled 3 Yrs/$7.5M, and he could earn $4M the first year of the deal. Those salaries add up to $4.55M, so there is about $3M in bonuses during the deal. Given his $4M in first year compensation, he must receive signing or roster bonuses totalling $2.7M this year.
