    Luxury boxes....

If Buffalo had them, who would buy them? Considering the state of the team and the state of the local economy, I can't see this being a huge source of revenue.

The Bills could easily reach out to Toronto, Rochester, and other surrounding areas to sell those suites. I'm sorry, but the Bills marketing of the team is average at best...it has to be better.

rochester has Paychex and Wegmans and that's it. Kodak, Xerox and B&L can't even afford to keep their employees.

Luxury boxes are great. They are unshared revenue. The problem is like OP says....no one can afford them

actually the problem with bufflao isnt that there is no economy, its the income desparity..... the local economy is flooded with two types of jobs

            1. Very high income(requiring high qualifications)
            2. minimum wage jobs ( requiring no qualifications)

truth of the matter is if you are lucky enough to get a well paying job in the greater buffalo area, it is a real nice place to live, much lower costws of living them most areas in the nation..

however the dificulty with our economy is finding that middle of the road <35-110k/year> in buffalo, and those jobs are more readily available in onther area's of the nation.(these aren't the people who would buy the boxes)

look at the areas of clarence/amherst/orchard park that cant seem to build 3/4million dollar homes fast enough

Exactly! It's how you market the team...and it always will be.

What ? The team hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years and keeps selling out all the games.

It was even stated on WGR the other day that early season ticket numbers look strong again.

                        Stratton's right.

There are large bank centers here.
There are hospital/health care systems here.
                        Several large law firms.
                        Deloitte and Touche
And I'm sure there's some sort of reciprocity with the Sabres.

Luxury boxes sell, it's just a tenuous time, as the big boys may be hesitant to sign a five year lease, given this country has amassed huge amounts of debt, is in the third year of a war, and is seeing record energy prices. Basically, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

But just because the city population is small, don't discount the suburbs. Millions of people live there. Mski is right, new buildss are exploding in Clarence, Lancaster, Alden, North Amherst, OP, etc...and they're all very expensive homes.

                        Someone's buying them.

Buffalo's economy is evolving. It's been a slow, painful transition from a blue collar steel town, to a young professional town. It's still early in process, although I think the change is finally starting to reach a point of critical mass.

Voters threw out several old crumugeon politicians in the last few elections, and some of the fresh blood are already trying to implement new ideas to put the area on stronger footing. The question is...is it already too late?

I hope not. I like this area. I think it has amazing potential....mostly because of its people.

I really don't know, but can the team but a cover over the entire endzone and call it a luxury box?

Yes, unfortunately it would be called The Panalty Box.
