Former No. 1 Gibson attempting a comeback

His size and unfulfilled expectations conjure images of Mike Williams. But in 6-foot-6, 375-pound Aaron Gibson, the Buffalo Bills are hoping this former first-round draft pick still has enough talent to match his considerable girth. Out of football a year ago, Gibson is being given a chance to resuscitate a once promising career with the Bills, who signed him earlier this week. Detroit drafted Gibson in the first round (27th overall) in 1999 and made him a starter as a rookie. Perhaps his best season was 2003 when he started 16 games for Chicago when Bills coach Dick Jauron was the Bears' head man. He played just four games in 2004 before sitting out all last season as injuries and weight problems brought his career to a standstill. more
