This is a very far fetched idea but what about slash? The steelers are going to cut him. He could serve as our 3rd receiver and be there at qb just in case Drew was ever injured. What do you think at a price of around 2 mil a year. You are right it is a stupid idea :banme:

I think he would serve Buffalo better in Miami!

Don't count Kordell out. He's another TD Steeler connection. :(

How many Ex-Steelers are on this team, 1? Charles Johnson I believe is the only one.

I dont get what everyone says about bringing ex-Titans and ex-Steelers in.

I think Cowher's insistance in keeping Slash at QB and TDs doubts about it was one of the biggest issues in their power struggle.

IMO Kordell wouldn't play WR again. He b!!@hed and moaned in the first place about how he wanted to be a QB in the NFL. I don't see him wanting to convert back.

You're right MissB. He has stated that he is a "QB in the NFL, not a WR". If I remember right, (and I'm sure I posted a thread in the nfl forum somewhere lol) where he had added something about "if not in Pittsburgh... somewhere else".

I think Kordell will end up in the CFL. If he can't cut it there, it'll be arena football.

Or we need a backup kicker. Didn't Slash have kicking duties for a little while?

Too bad he's so proud. He was one hell of a player when he was Slash. So much talent just riding the bench.

If I had a choice-

Kordell Stewart at vet min of $750,000 (and doesn't that mean only $450,000 vs the cap- vetrans exemption?) or AVP at $1,000,000 I'd take Kordell. Neither one will see action- and if they ever did- we are either leading by 30 or Bledsoe is out- and we will all be

Good point Dozer. Drew's extremely durable, so we really only need invest in a #2 as insurance only and not worry about a third.

Come on it was just wacky Idea. I wasn't smoking anything. I realize Stewart wouldn't agree to going back to receiver, but if he did it would allow is to do a few more things on offense and keep the d on their toes. I was in college down near the burgh when slash was at his finest and he was a pretty damn good receiver, and they could use him to run many different plays that would catch the d napping. Plus it would kill 2 birds with one stone. God forbid if DREW ever got hurt we would have a backup qb.

i wouldnt mind him being our backup QB, assuming the price is right..

I agree. Depends on what Kordell is willing to sign for. But I truly think that he would rather go to a team where he can be the starter. Hello Bengals!!!

Probably right. I read an article were he stated that he would like to be a starter, the bears were mentioned as interested.

Actually, I believe the only time he did that was in the Bills-Steelers playoff game following the '95 season (when BRUCE had the flu). Kordell had a punt for 41 yards...everyone was expecting a QB run.

About the Bruce Smith flu...this has always boggled my mind...why dont pro athletes get a flu shot?

They do....BRUCE didn't get his that year.
