Scary speed at WR could Benefit QB Situation..

We have some serious speed at the WR spot and early projections are

    1. Lee Evans 4.38 40

    2. Andre Davis 4.37 40

    3. Josh Reed 4.6 40

    4. Roscoe Parrish 4.32 40

    5. Sam Aiken 4.5 40

    6. Jonathan Smith 4.6 40

If you replace Reed with Roscoe or have a scheme with all 3 on the feild there are not to many Defensive Backfeilds that can counter that kinda speed if any ...

doesn't matter if our offensive line can't give them more than 2 seconds to throw.

doesn't matter if Holcomb's QB cuz after 3 seconds they're out of his range anyway.

This is all the more reason why we need to give Losman the chance. He has the arm strength to get the ball downfield to these guys.

Having somebody like Holcomb only ruins the speed that you built with the WR's. Holcomb can't get the ball downfield to these guys. What good are these guys running 5 yard outs?

        Fever, excellent point there.

These receiving corps, speed wise, rival the Browns when Holcomb was there. It did NO good with Holcomb at the helm in Cleveland. Cleveland had Davis, Q Morgan, Northcutt, KJohnson. Johnson would be the Josh Reed of the group speed wise.

In order for the speed to be effective you need a QB with a strong arm, WRs can only turn 5-7 yard dumpoffs/slants into long run after the catch one out of like 20 times, maybe.

I agree with the Holocomb line, he showed u his best game with his play last year, Losman will be the starter u can bet on it, he has all the intangibles and like u said can get the ball down feild. It would be nice to have that kinda threat for a change

I'll say it again and a million times again if I have to, JP is the right qb for this offense talent wise.

Well somebody better step up and prove that Holcomb isn't the best QB on this roster then. Simple as that.

Remember what the camp report for the first day said? Holcomb as usual did his dink and dunk. He is what he is, a managable backup

How can u say he stinks the coaching was absolutley awful, the oline was awful, the scheme was awful, yes he did not do the greatest while he was in there, but very few QBs ever due there first year playing, he has way more to give i truely believe that, also no TE and a defense that was walked on. Give me one QB that would be successful in that situation please...

I don't want to quibble too much about numbers, but where did you get them? My understanding is that Evans is around 4.33 in the 40, Parrish is around 4.4, and Sam Aiken around 4.65.

Are Josh Reed and Jonathan Smith really that slow? Wow, I thought they were low 4.52ish range from what I saw last year.
