Back in the late 90s I saw a couple articles on this. People tried to predict how many people left the greater Buffalo/Niagara area (population about 900,000) if the Bills left. This based on actual jobs lost, companies going under, domino effect and people just getting fed up and leaving. The worst prediction I remember was 10-12.5% within 3-5 years. I think that is a little much. However, I could see it being a real problem. I could forsee as much as 5% leaving within 3-5 years.

Anybody?

How big is the roster?

I'll say 53.

The Bills aren't going to make non-football related companies fold.

I will say this. I won't be looking to leave but the Bills were one of the factors of me staying in the area.

How many players actually live in Buffalo? Does Marv live in Buffalo?

I don't see many people leaving because the Bills left. Some people will just be looking for new jobs.

Once the economy collapses even worse than it already is, then the people will flee out of here. :ill:

It could have serious ramifications, if only in the sense that the people here who are hanging by a thread would leave.

Erie County has about 935,000 people. Niagara County has about 205,000
1.14 million for the two county Metro Area

The Rochester Metro Area plus Genesee County has about 1.1 million

Syracuse metro has 730,000

Utica-Rome has 300,000

Jamestown/Elmira/Binghamton have in total about a half million people.

Albany/Schenectady/Troy has about 900,000, but that isn't a Bills bastion.

Southern Ontario (St. Catherine's/Niagara Falls/Fort Erie) has about 350,000 people

Hamilton/Burlington ON has about 650,000 or so.
