View Full Version : Peerless Price: Why, Marv, Why?!?!

Peerless Price proved that he isn't worth much in both Dallas and Atlanta. We already have a whole collection of undersized but fast receivers: Evans, Parrish, Jonathan Smith, Aiken- the only real possession receiver we have is Reed, and he sucks.

We have at least 4 guys that can return punts and kickoffs: McGee, Parrish, Smith, Clements.

So what is Price doing here? Not only is Marv keeping TD's garbage from last year, he's bringing back some of TD's garbage that we've already dumped. WHAT THE ****!?!?!

We don't need another small, speedy receiver. If Marv is intent on replacing Moulds, he'd be much better trading up to draft Maurice Stovall in the second round. Then we'd have a good mix of possession guys and speed guys, instead of 4 guys that are basically interchangeable.

Price is a no-risk pick. If he gets cut all he costs is some food and a practice uniform.

It's worth the risk IMO.

The last time Price was here Fairchild was the receivers coach and the only person to ever generate anything decent from price. Fairchild has said he is excited to have price back, maybe the combination of the two will produce decent results. I did not realize the connection until a few moments ago.

Plus I think Marv was tired of the 25 new Ralph threads so he figured this would generate 20 new PP threads.

It looks like he was right.

Fairchild was the running backs coach I believe.

I hope you guys are right because this seems like a HUGE waste of time to me. I mean, there's enough tape on this guy to know what to expect.

Plus, now we have Price AND Gibson- how many careers is Marv going to try to resurrect?

I'm with Straton on this one, Price didin't stand a chance in Alanta with Vick and his legs! With Parcells run first offence he didn't quite fit there either. He's got hands and experience why not give him a look and see if he has lost a step.

Look Price is a great backup for either starter and will be a VERY VERY Dangerous threat in the slot. You can bet the DC's for our 3 divisional oponants aren't too happy with this signing.

BTW...We trade him for a first then get him back for nothing. HA! I love it!

Great move Marv! This houshold is very very happy. This fanbase loves tradition and it's great to see players come back..

Because his best production was when fairchild our new OC was his WR's coach. it also give us now 3 guys that can legitamately vie for #2. Evans, Price, Davis. dude that is going to be tough as hell to cover. Add reed into the mix and watch out!

Competition is never a bad thing. His only success was here in Buffalo. It is possible it could happen again I guess.

Hopefully he wasn't overpaid for though.

Ha- I saw them in the Bills store in Rochester for $20 and I almost bought one, just hoping they would eventually re-assign his number to someone good.

Who cares if he was signed?

If he pans out, the Bills have a steal. If he sucks he gets cut and like ES said costs nothing.

This is not a signing to complain about.

I don't think Price is TD's Garbage. He was drafted well before TD was here as GM. It is just more competition.

whatever- the point is TD had the sense to get rid of him. He did nothing since he left. The guy exploded in 02 and it's been all downhill from there.

How many more damn WR's do we need? Let alone all of them being the same type of WR. Evans, Davis, Parrish, Price and Reed? Not sure if it will be good but it will definitely be fast.

And sure enough 2.5 million a year again just like the rest of the players we brought in.

Davis, Reed and now Price all for about 2.5 million a year? For that kind of money we could've went out and got 1 great superstar instead of 3 average players.

Even if they panned out you can't play all of them at once unless you plan on running 5 WR sets all game.

Maybe they already know we will be behind all the time and will be playing catchup so we will have a lot of 4+ WR sets out there.

I really haven't understood the logic in just about any of our signings this offseason or the money we gave most of these guys.

Price just jived another team out of millions. I hope he returns to 2002 form but what are the chances? He hasn't done anything in 3 seasons.

I would've maybe understood this before we signed Davis and Reed and already had Parrish.

One big advantage Price has over guys like Davis and Parrish is that he's able to break that first tackle, and runs very strong, not just fast. He did very well as a number 2 with us. I'd imagine he's humbled after the Atlanta deal. Think about it. In 2000 (his 2nd season) he started at the #2 spot. He had 52 grabs for 762 yards and 3 TD's. In 2001 he had 55 for 895 and 7 TD's, and in 2002 he had 94 for 1252 and 9 TD's. His four year total with us was over 3300 yards and 22 TD's. It wasn't just that big year. 762 and 895 are very solid yardage #'s for a #2. I think this is an excellent signing. Plus he's still under 30.

It's called having experience around, Moulds leaves and PP comes back to teach the crew at 1/5 the cost, I like it.

One TD reception doesn't make this a great move yet. He has 126 yards in 4 games. A lot of WR's will catch a TD catch in any given week in the NFL.

When he starts keeping this up on a consistent basis and has some big games then maybe this can be called a great move.

It doesn't have to be a great move. As long as he contributes and helps us win in any way or form, it would have been worth it.
