OK, it's all yours!

We'll publish the results on the main page when it's finished.

Glen, you set up the ground rules and run it any way you wish.
So commish can take bribes from teams? Sounds like real life.....

It would probably be best to run it in this forum as it will get the most traffic here.
Yes it would but we need a new subject ....

Rule number 1: Anyone who calls me "Glen" gets last choice in teams.

Glenn PLEASE.

I'll set up the rules like I did on TSW.

No one gets Bills - consensus pick from all participating members.
Anyone attacking another GM gets penalized a pick or loses a few slots (We will call it the Minnesota Vikings screw up).
No trades (sorry no way to evaluate it unless someone can find a way, trading future picks does not make sense since GMs are all lame ducks).
Please include name and college of player (i.e. George Bush/Yale)
Picks can be submitted ahead of time including list of possibilities and conditionals
All participants must have PM turned on (if your mailbox is full, empty some)
Regarding taking more than one team, maybe, but definitely only if not enough partipants
Send me a PM of three teams in order with points allocated as positive whole percentages adding to 100% (i.e. NYJ 60%, NYG 30%, NEP 10%. If I get two who are absolutely tied then I'll pick randomly and assign other player last. Go for the Gold and you may get the booby prize)

I'll need a 2nd who is not playing for impartiality on certain calls. Maybe he can authenticate picks during day.

I do not think more than 1st day picks (round 1-3) makes sense.

We need a discussion on how long to wait between picks. Draft is SOON and one day a pick is too long.

Has the coin flip been made yet? Two teams tied and a coin flip was to decide order.

I welcome feedback and correction of 'mistakes'. Mistakes are made deliberately to see if you are paying attention.

3hours to pick, starting at 8am til like 11pm. That would be 5 picks a day. It would take 18 days.

Since I can not be on during work hours (work frowns on it) it would only work if people choose picks by providing a list. I only anticpate two evenings before draft I will not be on because I'll be working late shift.

One player officially in. PM received.

If someone wants to designate a backup for their pick that is OK too.

Devin

Id like to represent the Saints boss.

G. Host

I got ten GMs right now who have PM'ed me.

I did not want to make it "first come, first serve" which is why I asked for percentages. It was supposed to be a lottery type system where if you go for your first choice with all of your marbles and lose, then you need to get might be get your last choice but if you spread them out (i.e. any NFC East team) you are more likely to get one of the teams you want. I have already had some requests for same teams.

I'd like more discussion on rules starting with what I have laid out aleady. Timetables, what to do when someone does not repond in certain period, etc. I am home at unusual time because of a sore throat.

I do have 2 offers of assistant commishs and will not need more.

To answer some questions:
1. Yes it will be an anonymous GM draft but someone wants to post their choice (whether they tell the truth or not) they can in this thread. But please send me a PM with your (actual) choice. If you can not go thru that effort, you will probably not make the effort to pick player lists for your warroom.
2. I do not have all GMs yet
3. I do not have a time table and I welcome discussion on that
4. Questions can be asked in this thread

The biggest problem we have is figuring how much time between picks....3 rounds=96 picks....we only have 17 days including today til draft day. So say we were to start tomorrow on this, which won't happen, in all likelihood...We'd have to be picking on average of 6 guys a day total. And then Sir Glenn is running this fun and I'm sure he doesn't want to sign on constantly to update the draft selections.

Question though, why no trade of picks? We can go by a draft value chart to be able to equal out trades to see if they're fair. As long as the point values are close, that should be fine for an "even" trade. If not no big deal, just a suggestion.

First I think depending on the schedule of Glenn and of the assistant commishes then we should be able to run easily within 7 days.

Secondly trades are a pain in the ass to keep track of and many teams will trade picks and say a commish may not be around to review it before the pick is up, what happens? The mock grinds to a halt and we are stuck. I agree no trades.

Draftboy and camelcowboy will be the assistant GMs
So far following have asked to join:

hydrosmak
Italian Stallion
Devin
mysticsoto
Kenny
The Quebecer

Then he better give me twice as many bribes. You of course will get twice as many cuts. It is modelled after the new NFL model.

Now if we can get more donors to sign up to b GMs

we better get going with this.....Less than 2 weeks to the draft, and I highly doubt with everyones differing schedules, we'll all be able to do a big cluster of this thing in a day or so...

Double up the GM's or something and lets get this thing started, or at least set a deadline.

G. Host
04-13-2006, 08:13 AM
I agree but even if I have assistant GMs take teams I do not have enough GMs for half the teams yet. I will asign first teams tonight and see if that generates interest in remaining teams.

I have assigned some secondary teams and we are ready for first 7 picks
Houston: hydrosmak
New Orleans: Devin
Tennessee: The Quebecer
N.Y. Jets: clumping platelets
Green Bay: Italian Stallion
San Francisco: Kenny
Oakland: Oaklandraider

Please send to me your first pick and as many alternates as you can.

I chose some of the secondary picks to seperate out posters not wanting posters to have back-to-back picks. If I have assigned you a team you do not want let me know. If I have not assigned you a secondary pick please find one not located near your primary pick and post it.

Once again please check Mock draft board I have set up (easiest to represent as HTML)

Picks should be sent when there are 5-10 picks ahead of you. If you submit them too early you might miss a player who unexpectedly drops.

My night shifts have been cancelled so I expect I'll be able to check picks most evenings around 5-6 and keep checking until I go to bed around 11 pm. I'll try to check in AM or if I can not sleep like now during middle of night.

To all GMs: Please recruit fellow GMs. Due to some of antics on the main board, many are avoiding it.

If you wanted to help out with more than one, all you had to do was ask. There are several people that have 2 teams...this isn't a competition of who has the most teams.

My vote for Buffalo's pick : Michael Huff, S/CB

Best player available... either @ S or will replace N. Clements (when he leaves...)

As usual the Bills pick will be a consensus pick.
I will attempt to post a poll for Buffalo third round pick.
Look for seperate post regarding this poll and thread for which players to add to pick. I'll edit thread to include links later.

Right now I need 3rd round, pick #67 by Green Bay GM Devin posted.

I need a 2 player pick list for pick #68 from San Francisco GM Kenny
I need a 3 player pick list for pick #69 from Oakland GM Oaklandraider

First of all, why don't you look at your post before hitting submit reply. I could hardly read that.

Secondly the scouting report i read said he was "Extremely versatile and has experience at inside linebacker and outside linebacker as well as defensive end". Having some experience at DE tells me he made for a 3-4 style defense but what do i know.

One year Minnesota is late, one year they are early. No big deal for it would allow Miami to "steal" the player they wanted.
