JOHN WAWROW gets it even if Buffalo media doesn't

Only in Buffalo, a town that's always looking over its shoulder in fear of what will go wrong next, can Ralph Wilson's warning about the Bills' future be instantly translated into the team preparing to relocate to Los Angeles.

Doesn't matter Wilson prefaced each statement by saying he remains committed to keeping the team in Buffalo.

But a careful analysis of what Wilson said reflects otherwise.

Much was made about Wilson's statement that he may no longer be able to keep his promise of keeping the Bills in Buffalo. What he meant, as Wilson explained to The Associated Press afterward, is that he is concerned that a new owner would not be able to afford to keep the team in Buffalo based on the potential restrictions included in the new labor deal.

As a result, Wilson is reconsidering plans regarding who might succeed him. Rather than having his estate sell the franchise, he's considering keeping the team within the family, something he had previously ruled out.

Yet, somehow, Wilson is being painted as the bad guy for attempting to take a proactive stance. Perhaps, he should've stayed quiet and merely allowed the franchise's next owner take the heat.

Let the fear mongers post and writers/radio jockeys from Buffalo full of hot air write tripe, Ralph and his supporters are trying to keep Bills in Buffalo.

On the other hand they and us may be completely right. Ralph didn't help himself making claims that have yet to be proven in the CBA?

A man worth $750 Million crying broke in a dying town is not intelligent.

Youre taking a quote from the albany times union? hahaha.

Wawrow is an AP writer, not a times union writer.

Don't be such a ****ing jerk, have a little respect for one of the founding fathers of the modern NFL. You are the last one that should be speaking to another man's intelligence Skooby.

Re: JOHN WAWROW gets it even if Buffalo media doesn't

Wawrow has it exactly right. Only in Buffalo, where people are incredibly negative and expect the worst, is Ralph vilified for speaking out in an attempt to keep the franchise viable.

Then idiots like Bucky Gleason pile on, making everyone even more paranoid. It all makes me sick.

Come on, fans. Stick up for your team, rather than buying into the negativity of the press and the gloom and doomers who have ruined Buffalo and Western New York.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

I'll tell you this much about Wawrow, whether you like his writing or not.

He's VERY Credible.. I know him.. He's literally at EVERY game, every press conference and most practices. He's as hands on as any Bills writer.. NOt the nicest guy, but he'll ask what he wants to ask to any player, coach, owner, etc..
