And may trade up...

Cowboys | Team might consider moving up to draft M. Huff
Fri, 14 Apr 2006 18:02:23 -0700
Adam Schefter, of the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl) Network, reports the Dallas Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) might consider moving up in the NFL Draft (http://www.kffl.com/link/159) to select Texas CB/S Michael Huff (http://www.kffl.com/player/13752/nfl). The Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) are scheduled to pick 18th in the first round, and Huff is expected to be long gone by then. To get Huff, the Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) would have to trade up, possibly ahead of Detroit at No. 9, certainly ahead of St. Louis at No. 11.

HMMM... 8 comes before 9. Anybody want Dallas' 1st and 2nd?

NO.

I dont want to move down to number 18..

I want a top ten player who will turn this franchise around.

FTR, I"m not opposed to moving down.. but imo, 18 is too far down..

Take advantage of sucking last year, and get yourself a top ten franchise player.. I"d move down to 13 at the latest, where I could trade down and STILL get either Bunkley, Ngata or Justice.

Eric Winston will still be there at 18. Personally I'd take him over Justice.

Maybe I shouldnt have even mentioned Justice..

really dont see nor WANT us using our first pick on a tackle.. WE have a sure thing in Peters and between gandy, mcfarland or Gibson one of them should be good enough to start.

I think if a Vernon Davis or AJ Hawk was to slip to 8, you HAVE to take them, they're simply too good and its a player that WONT be a need for YEARS to come...

But if they're gone and odds are they will. I REALLY think you need to make sure you get Bunkley or Ngata with that first pick. If you can trade down and get one Preferably Bunkley then all the power to ya, but I wouldnt pass on them, if that Hawk/Davis tier is gone.

I love Huff, but I have to admit, I'm scared about that TExas Top ten flop mysitque.. It's happened often this decade, I dont like it.

If we are really considering a safety EARLY in the draft.. Is Huff at 8 really a better pick than taking a JImmy Williams, Donte Whitner (who I think is the steal of the DRAFT) or Jason Allen in mid-first round? Or Bullocks or Watkins in round two?

I would do it in a heart beat...pick up Eric Winston LT for 10 years.

Then a pair of DT in the second that will play for the same.

I think the guards in this draft are better than the tackles, after Brick..

Joseph, Spencer I love.. and I like Lutui some as well.

I would also like Ernie Simms there as well...at 18.

Some many opitions.

The latest knock on Eric Winston is that he has only 32 inch arms .. Which is very short for a left tackle....

Can you say rd 2.....

Im not saying Gandy is a strength. IM saying there are other areas that need addressing more than taking Winston in the first round...

Gandy is also only a 5-year vet.. he still could have some upside and maybe playing next to a LG that doesnt absolutely SUCK would help his game as well.

Alot of talent in this draft. Yes I would trade down to #18 for their 2nd this year and 3rd next year. I agree with Winston too. I like him better then Justice to be honest. Was so mad when ND didn't get Winston.

I say trade down then trade clements as well. It is obvious this guy is going to most likely hold out till week 10, get his 6 games in then become a FA again. Which means we lose him OR Franchise and piss him off again.

He loses trade value if we tag him again in 07 after him sitting some in 06.

Typical over value of a Bills player. No one will give us that. So Clements, Smartly, Most likely won't sign the 1 year deal till November and play about 6 games then be a FA. No reason to take a chance at his age/ Skill level for a 1 year deal.

Take Dallas' 18th pick if they go for it and be done with it. Personally I think we will do well to get a top 10 2nd rounder plus a low round pick for Nate.

No way in hell, we take a first for Nate and nothing less.

Marv has the leverage - not Nate.

No marv doesn't. Other teams do. IF we got a first I would be shocked. When you can get a franchise QB for a 2nd, you aren't going to be able to ask more for a CB, sorry.
