I dunno why Riem just vanished his last season with us. I was superstoked when we extended him.. He flourished under Fluite. I also dunno why he & Drew didn't mimich Drew & Ben Coates... I reflect back on our two best TE's and Metzelaars is only more popular because of the team superbowl era's and he had longevity. Riemersma coulda been. I liked both of them but i liked Riem in 01 best of all....I think of this because of the idea of Vernon Davis... Vernon Davis aside i was happy to reflect on Metzelaars & Big Riem..

I'd say Metzelaars had fewer dropped passes and was a better blocker than Riemersma, so I'd give the nod to Pete as our all time best TE. Keith McKellar, for whom the K-gun was named, was pretty good, too, although he lacked longevity.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Remiersma, in the new tradition of Bills TE's, had no YAC ability. He would catch the ball in open field, turn up field to run, and trip over his own two feet before a defender even touched him.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't Metz more of the blocker and McKellar more of the receiver? Mckellar's numbers don't match up to Metz', but his average was receiver like compared to metz'.

.....and old Metz would catch a ball and simply fall down. I think Metz ran the 40 in about a week and a half. Additionally, Metz running was dangerous as he was prone to fumbles IIRC. Very solid blocker with good hands but he had worse wheels than JR, much worse.

Metz is heads and shoulders the best TE in Bills history. Mckeller was only around for a couple years.
