View Full Version : Cowboys want to trade UP for Huff

Although the Cowboys matched the two-year offer sheet safety Keith Davis signed with the New Orleans Saints, they have made no secret of their hope of finding a true free safety to play opposite strong safety Roy Williams.

Huff, who can play safety or cornerback, is the best ball-hawking playmaker in the draft. To get Huff, however, the Cowboys would have to trade up from their 18th pick, possibly as many as 10 positions. Some draft watchers think Huff could go to Detroit at nine or St. Louis at 11.

I'd take their 1st, 2nd and 4th. :naughty:

Or their first this year and their first next year. Hey, it worked for getting jp. The irony.

Since we are in rebuilding mode, two first's next year would be great.

Their 1st, 2nd and 4th work out on the draft value chart. If I were them I wouldn't pay that price. Too steep.

I bet they move up with us. I say 1st, 2nd and a pick next year

we need a first this year no matter what. Their first and an extra Day 1 pick could work out nicely for us.

I know what the chart says but I could live with just their first and 2nd OR 1st, 3rd and 4th.

I think I'd do that trade (1st, 2nd, and 4th/or next year pick).

There's a lot of talent in the 2nd round.

I'd wait until we're on the clock though. if Mario, Brick or Hawk is still there, I'd be less inclined to pull the trigger.

Mario will be gone. Brick has a possibility if 1) jets dont' take him, 2) Lions dont trade up (*). Hawk will be gone.

(*) I say if Brick is still there when SF picks at 6, I move up and grab him. Otherwise I want us to trade out of that spot and get more picks.

Any pick we would get in next year's draft from them would be a low pick. Dallas will most likely by a playoff team this year and will be at the bottom of the draft order. Just something to keep in mind....
