Are they fair game for anybody to sign? And are there FA's after the first draft that we can sign cheaper then them enormous contracts?

How could anybody fill out a 53 man roster when our cutdown was 35 with the price of the FA's?

I'm new to this game so I'm assuming there are other FA's after this you can sign cheap for depth for under a million and stuff like that.

So our 53 roster consist of active players not counting rookies?

We have 53 active players and then our rookies are seperate? How many rounds is the rookie draft?

Rookie Draft is 8 rounds.

Your rookies won't play until next year, since they won't be in the game yet.

Since your rookies can't play, they don't count against your 53 players.

The price of free agents is determined by where you draft them. You can pass as many rounds as you want. I'm pretty sure nobody is drafting in the first round... maybe a team or two, but I don't see that many players worth $10 mil. Most people will really get drafting around rounds 15-20.... so the beginning of the draft may be slow. Just remember when you're drafting to not only plan out who you have to take where, but also how much money you're gonna have to pay them.

We could've signed FAs after last year's draft during the season, but now we can't sign anyone. Everyone is back into the FA Draft.

For reference... the draft salaries based on where you draft them:
Round 1: 10 million
Rounds 2-3: 7.5 million
Rounds 4-6: 5 million
Rounds 7-9: 4 million
Rounds 10-12: 3 million
Rounds 13-17 2 million
Rounds 18-22 1 million
Rounds 23-27 500K
Rounds 28-32 300K
Rounds 33-?? 100K

I think that should explain it.

And most of the depth-type players will be signed in the 200k and 100k rounds..

I see. Didn't know there were more rounds. Thanks.

after the FA draft is completed there will obviously be a bunch of players left undrafted. Those "street free agents" will cost $500K for a one year contract...that contract is prorated over the course of the remaining season.

bump for future reference on the prices per round.
