Was Gauthier's hit after the whistle really worth of a penalty? I ask, because:

1) I am not watching the game, radio-only :mad: :down:

2) If it was, it pisses me off, because after watching sneezing get called in Dallas & New Jersey today, I want the same treatment for our Sabres.

that hit after the whistle was borderline, ive seen it called and not called so it coulda gone either way

the penalty they called on the flyers was light for traditional playoff hockey imo so at least for now it looks like the refs are calling penalties properly

the sabres are controlling play and have had more chances after the flyer penalty so hopefully it will stay that way because the flyers simply cannot skate with the sabres in a tightly called game

This game is another example of one team outplaying another completely, but with nothing to show for it. The Sabres are outplaying the Flyers, but have zip to show for it now.

Are they not aware that the Flyers, much like the Rangers, are mostly powered by a single line? :down:

I can't bear it if Buffalo loses this game, since they are 100% outplaying Philthy.

well they say overtime in the nhl is a coin flip so here we go

losing the first game would certainly hurt but it would be far from critical for the sabres. theyve played well on the road all year and its reasonable to expect theyll take one in philly. thats what it would come down to really

and frankly if the games keep getting called like this the sabres are the better talented team for this style. boston perfected the get-outshot-and-still-win style in the 80/90s but not 41 to what 21. theyll lose the series in five or six if they keep that up

but it would be a big win for the flyers for sure. sabres too but maybe not so much so right now. loong way to go either way though

if there was a place where the flyers should have the advantage its right here

youd expect he refs to cut down at least some on the penalties and thats what they did in the other games so far. that would allow them to clutch and grab a little more which would make a big difference

plus the flyers are slower and may not lose as much of their speed as the sabres thus closing the gap

yeah ***** ***** ***** about bettman and this style of play. they only do that because they want the rockem-sockem style the flyers perfected but thats gone for good, as least this season

i mean you never know after the no-goal chicket **** call i wont bank on anything but so far theyre being pretty consistent calling penalties when theyre there

I've said this many times since he arrived on this team, and I whined/complained about it while he was sidelined this season:

It's only fitting that he would get the GWG goal tonight.

Ok, so I didn't leave the CPU entirely, I listened to it from another room, while reading a bit. But that might have had more to do with my wife coming home, and taking over the surfing on the web. :D

Campbell's hit sounded like it was great, I hope to actually see it in highlights. As for the penalties, I agree, it sounds like Philthy got away with a couple (Stupid ass Gauthier with a stick to the head, the too many men) as well.

Lydman sounds like he was horrible tonight, too. He hadn't really been so poor all season. This was a close one, though, but a win is a win. :up:

Miller was big in regulation. Esche was the only reason the Flyers were even in this game.

Cambell's hit is an instant classic...best hit I've seen in a while.

Lydman really struggled, badly.

I'd give my vote for team MVP to Briere, also. The little dude is awesome.
