Levy, Modrak Talk Draft: GM Marv Levy and Asst. GM Tom Modrak held the Bills annual draft luncheon yesterday with the media. Levy said any player they pick will be by consensus. He expects to come out of the draft with at least one big body for the offensive or defensive line. One of the players the Bills may take at number 8 is Brodrick Bunkley. Modrak called him a high motor guy who is a three-technique guy, who can play the one that the Bills will play. He does say that, although he's a different player, Haloti Ngata is a fit for the Bills. He also said it would be hard to pass up TE Vernon Davis if he's available at that spot. As far as adressing the offensive line in the first round, Modrak says there is a big drop off after D'Brickashaw Ferguson comes off the board. The 2nd best tackle is Winston Justice and Modrak doesn't think he's a top 10 pick, maybe somewhere in the high teens. If the Bills decide to address the OL in the first round look for them to trade down, get more picks and still try to get Justice.

Or VD is bait to get a team to trade?

Could this mean we still could draft Tamba Hali  he's a big D

Davis would be the flashy, TD pick, but I'm seeing Bunkley or trade down here.

I just dont see it, I think VD is more press hype that real scout hype. He's not the type of players teams traditionally would trade up for.

Bunkley at #8 would be an absolutely terrible pick.

I believe we'll trade down if VD is off the board.

I also firmly believe that they will not go O-line until round 3 or late 2nd depending on the trade down (Hope Lutui lasts)... There's just nobody there (outside of the brick) who will start in front of our current starters. Face it... we're drafting Villarrial's future replacement and depth at tackle.

It scares me that no one can transplant Bernie Anderson.
Bills should have kept Tucker and admitted their mistake regarding Mr. Anderson.

Is Preston a washout then?
Bills drafted him to replace Trey but then new management got a replacement center for Trey in Free Agency. He has shown he can play guard so is he a depth player only?

When I say starter, I don't include Anderson on that list. That spot will be filled by Preston or maybe even Gandy.

I see a rookie working LT by the end of the season. Gandy to guard

I think someone like Davin Joseph or Max Jean-Giles in the second round could come in and start from day one at guard, and be a considerable upgrade over Anderson. That would go a long way towards improving the line even if Gandy has to start for another year.

i think that we end up trading down to 10 to get young because the lions will deffinatley take young if he falls to them. remember we cant trade down past 10-11 or ngata and bunkley will be gone to cleveland and baltimore. so basically i think we trade with arizona there 1st and 2nd and we take bunkley at 10 and and i think in the 2nd we take an OL and S like bing and winston. remember if we make that trade with arizona we would have 2 very high 2nd round picks. and could land a eric winston or a marcus mcneil and also a darnell bing or ko simpson. if we trade down it is only alittle because we are going to draft ngata or bunkley so remember the trade down wont be farther than 10-11 because like i said those 2 DT's wont be there at 13-32

That is highly unlikely based on point values. If we swap First round picks with Arizona or St. Louis the best we would get would be a 3rd unless we threw in some of our second day picks.

I dont do smilies.. Applause for you though.

DUDE, I would LOVE Watkins in the second round.. I like him as much as Huff..Maybe not QUITE as much but I love Davis/Bunkley AND Watkins better than I like Huff/Whomever
