    The Argonauts are going to take a run at suspended NFL running back Ricky Williams.

    The Argos added Williams to their negotitation list yesterday, a day after he was suspended for the 2006 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy for a fourth time.

    All CFL teams have 35-player negotiation lists, which allows them to deal exclusively with players, even if they are under suspension.

          Difference being Ricky actually produced and produced well at the NFL level, unlike Phillips.

          If Ricky is smart and allowed to do this by the Dolphins, he goes and plays for one year up in the great white north so he can stay in game shape for 2007.

            If he ever gets his head on straight, Ricky could play football for a long time as a team's second back. He doesn't have the wear he should have by 30. Damn, I feel old cause Ricky Williams will be 30 the next itme he plays in the NFL.

                You are comparing apples to oranges sir. Lawrence Phillips never did anything in the NFL. Rickey Williams is a former rushing champ.

                  I'm pretty sure this won't happen, I think I remember that the CFL has an agreement with the NFL over suspentions.

                      Ricky if he wants to and is allowed by the Phins can play in the CFL there is no agreement in place. ESPNs been talking about it on every program this evening.

                        pro--remain in game shape, especially against b-listers (no offense to CFL'ers)
                        con--wear and tear/injuries
                        push--weed issues used to be lax, but I hear that the "new guys" in Canadian government are starting to be tougher, not sure
