I thought we were supposed to here Friday at the latest. Does this mean he rejected our offer? Has anyone heard anything maybe on local radio or something?

These things never seem to happen in the amount of time that the media reports.

At the billzone they are reporting the he is waiting to see if the Defensive coordinator (DC) for the Bears get the S.F. job, if he does LeBeau will take the DC of the Bears.

Expect LeBeau to join the Bills after the 49'ers name Ted Cottrell as their new head coach. Blache ain't getting the job, therefore LeBeau will either join the Bills or (die! J/K) retire.

Where are you hearing that Cotrell will be the new 49ers head coach? and Blache isn't getting the job?

I've heard that from various sources. Basically it's down to Cottrell and Neuheisel, but Cottrell has had experience and success in the NFL and, incidentally, is a minority (as is Blache). To bypass Cottrell for Neuheisel would be a major to-do IMHO.

I doubt Cottrell will get the job even though he deserves the S.F. job.

If reports that it's between him and Neuheisel are true, I'd be surprised to see the 49'ers pass him over given what will happen to the Lions for bypassing minority coaches. The Jacksons and Sharptons will have a field day with the 49'ers if they go with Neuheisel, and rightfully so.

Cotrell in SF will probably happen.

Unlike most teams, the 49ers are a "System" team. They are looking for a coach to basically make the decisions on when to punt, when to go for 2, or go for it on 1st down.

The 49ers retained all the offensive and most of the Defensive coaches. They want a caretaker coach that is not going to want personell controll, bring in his guys, ect...ect..

If Jim Mora Jr. doesn't get this job, I'll be shocked.

The Mercury News reports according to team sources, the next San Francisco 49ers head coach will be either Washington HC Rick Neuheisel or New York Jets DC Ted Cottrell.

I guess this means Blache doesn't get the job so Lebeau will be coming ot Buffalo.

I say Cotrell gets the job. 49ers need to build there defense up. Cotrell would be excellent help to rebuild a bad defensive unit.
