Three hours to go. I think the pick is...

Trade down. I think we will have the phone ringing off of the hook and the offers will be great to make the trade down.

If we stay at #8, we take DT and go with Bunkley.

IMO... If we stay at 8 (which I doubt) we'll take Huff or Williams over Bunkley or Ngata.

To be honest... I'm praying for Davis.

Are you saying Vernon Davis is "FLASH" Before I respond I want to make sure that you're talking about Davis and "flash".

I almost totally agree with you.. I want Huff before Bunkley or Ngata, but not Williams.. I dont like Jimmy Williams, I'd rather have Whitner in the middle of the round or Bullocks later in the round before JImmy Wiliams.

And like you, I can assure you that I am PRAYING something funny happens as well and Vernon Davis is a Buffalo Bill at around 2pm'ish.

I'd actually prefer Ngata over Bunkley. Yes, I know many have said he doesn't fit our new defense, but there's a place on every team for a big, run-stuffing DT.

What about Davis's character issue and his mouth. What about him spouting off about so and so team is going to be picking him. That sends flags up for me.

are you serious? Vernon Davis is one of the more polite guys I've ever seen............. he's a sure top ten pick, why wouldnt he speculate on who might take him? I've seen SEVERAL interviews with him (I've followed him more than any prospect in this draft) and he's NEVER come accross as arrogant.

His coach at Maryland called him not only the best player in the draft (not shocking of course your coach is gonna support you) but also one of the best character players in the draft.

If for some reason Brick falls, I would pass out.

I am biting on the smokescreens, Broderick is the pick.

I don't like Ngata, and will be disappointed if we pass up talent like Huff...

                    Huff to Buff!!

No denying Huff's talent, but our run defense is awful, and with Tim Anderson currently penciled in as the starter, it's clearly our biggest need to fill.

Smart football, Like the texans showed, is shore up your lines before adding anything else. Build up the lines then add flash and yes davis is flash. He is a glamor pick. Can he help, sure....esp if we had LT and DT shored up already.

The Texans could have taken flash but went with the best line talent available, Buffalo should follow suit.

Had we signed another DT, in Free agency worth the money then I would still not agree with Davis, I would take Huff. Marv was asked the other day why a 9-7 team dropped to 5-11. And he said because the DEFENSE went to pot. I agree.

Marv, Tom, DJ all know it starts with the lines. They saw how urlachers play went to hell when Ted Washington left and how much better it got, and Chicago's secondary got when the DL was shored up.

I trade down with STL to #11 and take Bunkley or Ngata (which ever is there). In the 2nd I take Bing or another Safety to upgrade our secondary further. As some 'experts' here have said there is quality to be had at LT in round 3 that can come in and possibly start by seasons end and definately start by next year. These moves shore up our lines, and add to the secondary.

BTW...if he is there in round 4-5 I take Dusty Dvoracek. He would be great for us as a backup in our rotation of DL's.

IF he's not drunk on the sideline during the game.. Talk about your character issues (Dvoracek)

Ya know dude, you continue to chap my azz more and more. Smart football, my friend, is taking the best value pick at each spot.

People who KNOW the draft know the following:

QB's- premiere franchise types go in the top 10
RB's- franchise types go top 5-10
WR's- elite types go mid to top round 1
TE's- elites go round 1, starters go round 2-4
OT's- LT's Ogden/Pace types go mid to early round 1, RT's and starters go late 1 all the way to 3, the rest are multi year porjects
FB's- starters can be had throughout the draft
DT's- Highest bust rate of any position in the 1st round as of the last decade. elites go 1st round, starters all the way to round 3, wave players/specialists go later
OLB's- elites go round 1, sometimes early, starters go all the way to round 3, the rest tend to be backups
ILB's- elites mostly go mid round 1, starters can be had into the 4th round
CB's- Elites go top 5, starters go till the mid 2nd, backups and projects go after that.
S's- elites go mid round 1, starters can be had into the 3rd round

So, its basic math, ICE. The players that touch the ball, carry the ball, throw the ball, or go one on one against ball carriers are the premium in most cases.

Great teams are built in the trenches but great teams dont necessarily need to build there lines with high 1st rounders. How many 1st rounders do the Broncos have?

In fact, most teams with good running games, outside the LT position, have NO 1st round lineman.

You dont know your stuff, stop acting like you do.

If all things were equal and the TExans DIDNT have Davis, there would have been NO decision, they would have taken Bush. An elite RB means more to a team than a elite DE, thats the facts, friend!!!
