The Raiders loved Young and IMO were planning on taking him at #7. They did not like Leinart. Since two QBs were still available teams probably felt they could still get there guy and not have to give up as much. If Leinart was gone to the Titans and Young taken by the Raiders teams would of been calling Buffalo more aggressively since Cutler was the only QB left.

Teams were on the phone about a trade though. If we were gonna draft this guy we should've traded down for anything we could've got. We still would've gotten Whitner.

Marv Levy and Tom Modrak hurt the Bills.
Baltimore moved up and got Ngata.. Denver moved up and got Cutler..
We could have had Whitner EASILY anywhere before 15.. Even a THIRD or FOURTH rounder added on what have been beneficial.. an extra pick NOT TO MENTION how much MORE MONEY Whitner will cost now.Comment
