The Bandits scored the first two goals of the game and never trailed. Led by goaltender Steve Dietrich, the Buffalo defense held Rochester scoreless for the first 22 minutes of the game. The Knighthawks cut the score to 10-8 with a fourth quarter run, but the Bandits were able to pull away.

By conquering one of their oldest tormentors Saturday night, the Buffalo Bandits took a giant step toward ending their championship drought. Steve Dietrich made 46 saves, many of them scintillating, the offense spread around the wealth and the Bandits defeated the Rochester Knighthawks, 15-10, in the National Lacrosse League's East Division final before 10,897 at HSBC Arena. more (http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060430/1008844.asp)

I hope the Bandits win another championship. Lacrosse is an underappreciate sport. I wrote a commentary a few years back about how it was great to have a championship team here in Buffalo. I wish more people were as interested in the Bandits.

Hopefully, after we win that title in less than 2 weeks, it'll help. To be honest, I nevr got into it before I actually saw a game live. I had only followed it to a mild extent because of my site and the Bandettes. After seeing a game last season, I was hooked. Should've gotten seasons this year because I haven't missed a game all year and I'll be there when we beat the crap out of the Mammoth to win the Champions Cup!!
