2-2 after one. Luckily Buffalo converted the few opportunities they had. They were outplayed that period. Gladly take a tie after 1.

the prollem is ottawa can do anything the sabres can plus they are bigger

the only advantage the sabres have is on the 4th line and in goal

thats why i dont think its going to be good enough, but i sure hope im wrong

great game so far from an entertainment standpoint. but they gotta slow down the sens attack cuz they wont keep up this way

Tim Connolly has just continued to show that he is the best player on the Sabres here in the playoffs. I usually sing the praises of Briere 1st and foremost, but Timmy has outplayed everyone on this team the entire 7 games in the playoffs so far.

Both Miller & Emery have been shaky at best. What a high-scoring affair---Just like we figured it would be.

Max should have his ass chewed out good during the intermission.

05-05-2006, 07:48 PM
Derek Roy ties it up!!

And I think that we can finally confirm that OLN are the fools that are setting off a goal horn for the visitors, when it was thought it may have been the idiotas at Wachovia.

I couldn't agree more. That Pommenville penalty was WAYYYY to costly as well.

There is no one best player on the Sabres.

Connolly, Briere, Roy ... we've had many stars.

Sabres aren't adjusting to the faster game just yet.

Ebenezer
05-05-2006, 07:56 PM
:phew: 4-4 a goal as the period ends...that's a biggie...

is this going to be another one of those series I can't watch?

LABillsFan
05-05-2006, 07:57 PM
They can't win a shoot out with this team and certainly can't keep taking penalties. They have to set a defensive tone more so and Jump on their chances. Miller needs to be a little quicker too. That break away goal should have been stopped to me. He was just a little slow covering the post.

LABillsFan
05-05-2006, 07:58 PM
Did you see the close up of Ottawa's coach after that goal, you could plainly read his lips " F********.

05-05-2006, 08:08 PM
Well, that certainly sucked, didn't it?

There is no one best player on the Sabres.

I disagree----Briere has been the best offensively gifted player this team has since his arrival in the jack move Darcy pulled on Phoenix.

That being said, Connolly has been pure magic in these playoffs.

Meathead
05-05-2006, 08:10 PM
dang i dont see how the sabres can beat ottawa on the road, just cant stop them

even with emery shaky its gonna take some kinda fluke to win this series the sens are just too good up front

I meant in the playoffs. Just tonight, Roy has been awesome

Overall, Briere is our best player since LaFontaine

miller needs to be the best player on the ice for the sabres to win and youre right he shoulda had that easily

i dont know what he was thinking letting that left leg lag like that, pretty standard play he shoulda anticipated easily

pyrrhonist
05-05-2006, 08:17 PM
Man, Buffalo is just not able to keep up with Ottawa. The pace of this game is semi-ugly, like the beatings they took from Ottawa earlier in the year, but fortunately, the score doesn't match those games. :whew:

This is the kind of game that will be a true heartbreaker, because Emery hasn't been good at all. Sadly, though, Ryan hasn't been any better.

Overall, Briere is our best player since LaFontaine

Excellent comparison. :posrep:

Both goalies look shaken. The difference is Buffalos D not covering up. Just to many weak goals because they are out of position. I don't care if they tied the score, those rebounds Miller is giving up and the lack of support has this game going into OT>

Funny thing is I watch Roy make a bad play trying by himself to get into the Ottawa zone and I thought, "boy, Roy doesn't impress me". Then he scored to tie it at 5.
