I thought he was already signed ? But maybe they meant he signed an extension.

Here's a link....says he was signed to a one year $425,000 deal. Why not long term?

Has anyone thought he just doesn't want to? Maybe he would rather play somewhere else? Nah that can't be it, I mean we are beating FA's off with a stick in buffalo...

Bills have signed plenty of FAs.

Maybe Peters is turned off by some of the negative fans?

Or maybe he is tired of playing on a losing team? He is also starting to understand his worth.

His ass better remember which team brought him in as an undrafted free agent and gave him a shot, and then made him the player he is now.

He woulda landed somewhere. He was hyped. My draft guide had him as the #1 TE that year.. Surprised he went undrafted... We have no way of knowing what his deal is. :(

Stupid post. I'm pretty sure that Peters agent is telling him that he can get more money if he tests the open market, which is probably true. For you to sit there and say he doesn't want to sign because it's Buffalo is just plain stupid. Hell, most of these guys would go play in Alaska if the money was right. So just spare us of the whole "Buffalo is the laughing stock of the entire NFL" rant. Go to another board and spew it there for awhile, as I for one am really sick of reading it in every god damn thread I read.

this isn't really a surprise. the bills offered him the one-year tender, he signed it. there is no doubt that we'll try to lock him up long term. I don't see this as Jason Peters agent's strategy move, but rather simply playing the hand that's dealt right now. what else is he going to do, not sign it?

This tells me that Peter's will be tried out at both LT and RT this camp/PS. Buffalo doesn't want to pay him LT money to play RT. Conversely, Peters doesn't want to play LT for RT money. Simple solution: sign the tender now and see what happens over the next few months. Where he officially lands will determine what his "real" contract will be.

The fact that Peters hasn't been signed to anything better scares the crap out of me. Why not give hime an $800,000-$1,000,000 contract for the year as a sign of good faith? He has been, by far, the bright spot on this team. Starting RT's usually get $2-3 million a year. They are giving him Guard money.

The fact that they haven't done anything here is ridcuolous.
