All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Who do you think will be favored to win the Eastern Conference finals?
Have the Sabres convinced enough of the pundits that they should be considered the better team in the next round, or will they still be looked at as an underdog against Carolina or New Jersey?

Guarenteed that we're not favored. I can hear the pundits now, Miller is inexperienced and we're too young and Ruff is balding... yada yada yada. It will come down to Miller Vs. Ward.
Games in which pulled during playoffs - Ward 1....Miller 0
Hobbe Baker Awards won Miller 1 Wade O
Not that it matters, but earlier I was in the NHL.com chatroom and Carolina fans were actually putting their money on Buffalo to take the series in 6. Alot of the other fans in the room agreed. I asked Carolina or Buffalo... 14 people said Buffalo, 4 said Carolina.
“You hold a players only meeting and get each guy to stand up and say what he can bring to the table... and if he doesn't, you punch him in the face.” ~~ Harry Neale, on how to fix the Sabres season.
Carolina is going to be brutal... they match us well.
They play much better team defense then any remaining team in the playoffs (or any team we played thus far for that matter)... and they have a few players who are fast enough to expose us when our D pinches (as our D always pinches this might become a problem)
That said, the Sabres will probably be able to control the pace of the games far better then they did against Ottawa, as the Hurricanes... while sporting a handful of ultra speedy burners are on average a slower team then the Sens.
After watching parts of a few of the games the Cane's played in the playoffs thus far, the thing that sticks out is that they will have difficulty coming back if we ever get a two goal lead... as their defense are only average to bellow average passers, which makes breaking any form of trap nearly impossible.
They will not have Ottawa’s problems with scoring, or spotty defense, however their goaltending is off and on, and looks better due to their strong defense then it actually is.
I'll be a homer and pick the Sabres in 7
That said, if we can slip past Car, we should have no problem with anyone in the west, as no one left over that side of the country is half as good as either Ottawa or Carolina.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.
