    New record

The last game at Rexall place in Edmonton set a new noise record for NHL buildings.

After Samsonov's goal the noise was at 114dBs. A new NHL record. And we don't use those stupid boomer things to create the noise. It was just yelling and cheering.

The Shark tank was close but fell a few decibels short coming in at 100.

I agree with this guy. Hard to imagine anything louder than the old barn on Madison.

The only competition a well-traveled sports scribe can come up with was old Chicago Stadium in the playoffs when those little tiny hairs stood on the back of your neck during the national anthem.

Since when did Oilers fans get so loud? During the Gretzky era, they hardly made a peep.

Yeah I agree EE. That Chicago barn used to rock.

Back in the day the people who went to the Oilers games were corporate stuffed shirts. Now a days it's rowdy oilpatch workers who have buckets of money and drink buckets of beer.

Also back in the Gretzky days, it was expected for the team to win. Today this is a total surprise as they weren't even expected to make the post season.

Didn't you just say something about taking it one step at a time.

Conference finals first for you guys. Heck we still have to get past the Sharks.

            Re: New record

Sorry about the mis information but the "official" level at the last game was 108dBs and the unofficial level was 114. Someone in the audience had a noise level tester and it read 114, but the producer of the score board recorded the official level.

So for now Chicago still holds the record at 110.
