    How about a swap?

Let's send Nate Clements to Detroit for Jeff Backus! They both seem to wanta new venue and we sure as hell could use him at LT? Thoughts? And please do not foil my dream with facts that make sense dammit!

How is Jeff Backus that much better than Gandy? Nate Clements is worth wayy more than Backus. If Clements is traded it should only be for a DE.

Nay, I've got no problem with Gandy. let's trade for a pick next year.

Who on our current roster is capable of taking over for Nate this season?
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Backus isn't better then either of our starting tackles. Why the Lions franchised him I have no clue.

Not a good trade. Unless you are getting a pro bowl caliber plaer in return for a pro bowl caliber CB, thats the only way I would trade him. Unless it was for a 1st rounder next year.

Not a bad idea. We're gonna probably lose clements next year anyways so why not try to get something for him. Yeah Backus may not be amazing right now, but he has more potential than Gandy and could be more of a long term solution. Backus is very young and his best years ahead of him, I dont see Gandy ever becoming anything special.

But we are perfectly happy with Gandy at LT. Just ask mcnally about how under rated Gandy is...

you make a good point- however this year is going to be "rebuilding" anyway- we're going to suck. Might as well get one of the draft picks in Nate's spots to take his lumps and get it out of the way while we can still get something in return for Nate.

I hate to think in these terms, but this team is building for 07 and 08. 06 is looking more and more like a wash every day.

Exactly. I say move vincent back to CB (good for cover 2) and let the rookies start at both safety spots. Let Yobootay (name still cracks me up) play nickel then be ready to step in next year when Vincent is gone.
